
It is important that students do not only know how to defend themselves standing up, but also they should be able to defend themselves on the ground or in other positions. The Green Tag tests the knowledge and capability of the student to overcome and opponent whilst on the ground.
Lying on Belly - Go to Turtle
In Turtle - Sprinters Stand Up
In Turtle - Low Ankle Takedown
Lying on Belly - Go to Turtle
Start lying on your belly
Bring your hands in to protect your head
Bring your knees up to protect your sides into Turtle
Your elbows and knees should be touching
Stay in Turtle position

In Turtle - Sprinters stand Up
Start in Turtle Position with opponent to your side
Look forward & put weight into your hands
Bring your knee up inside your elbow
Drive forward like you are sprinting out of the blocks
Continue running forward
This stand up should be performed as fast as possible

In Turtle - Low Ankle Takedown
Start in Turtle Position with opponent in front of you
Reach with one hand to the outside of their ankle
Now shift forward so your head is on the outside
Bring your other arm around the inside of their ankle
Your outside hand should be inside the crook of your inside arms elbow.
Now drive with your legs and push them over
Ensure your partner practices their Backward Break Fall
